Privacy notice
Manaratul Ilm NPC ("we") is the responsible party for the information you give us when you register. This notice explains what we collect, why, and your rights under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
What we collect
- Parent or guardian: name, contact numbers, and email (optional).
- Students: first name, surname, date of birth, last grade finished, Arabic reading level, and whether this is a new or re-registration.
- Essentials of Islam: your name, gender, email, contact number and chosen year.
- A one-way scrambled form of your network address, used only to stop automated abuse. We do not store the address itself.
Why we collect it
Only to process your registration, place students in classes, contact you, match fee payments, and meet our duties as a non-profit. We do not sell or share this information for marketing.
Children's information
Information about children is supplied by a parent or legal guardian, who consents on the child's behalf. We collect only what we need to run the class.
Who can see it
Only authorised Manaratul Ilm administrators, who sign in with a secured account. Our service providers (Cloudflare for hosting and storage, and an email service for administrator alerts that never contain personal details) process data on our behalf.
How long we keep it
For the year of enrolment and a reasonable period afterwards for record-keeping, then it is deleted or anonymised.
Your rights
You may ask to see, correct or delete your information, or withdraw consent, at any time. You may also complain to the Information Regulator (inforegulator.org.za).
